The Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Bill & Hillary Clinton National Airport will be co-hosting a job fair for the 210 Hawker Beechcraft employees that will be displaced upon the facility’s closing. The job fair will be held Thursday, December 13th from 9am to noon at the Aerospace Education Center (3301 East Roosevelt Road). Hawker announced the closure on November 7th and the Chamber quickly extended support to Hawker as part of its Business Retention & Expansion economic development program that provides assistance to existing industry in mitigating challenges and maximizing opportunities for the continued growth of the region and its citizens. The job fair will feature employers that are looking to hire including APA Services, Cameron, Century Industries, Inc., Custom Aircraft Cabinets, Dassault Falcon Jet, Georg Fischer Sloane LLC, Manpower, Kimberly-Clark, Remington, Ring Container Technologies, Staffmark, Strom Aviation, and Unilever along with the Arkansas Workforce Center at Little Rock. If your company is hiring and is interested in having a table at the job fair or for more information, please contact Kristi Barr at 501-377-6017. The Chamber routinely works in partnership with the Governor’s Dislocated Worker Taskforce to provide similar assistance to any area employer that faces the difficult challenge of displacing members of its existing workforce with the goal of reemploying that workforce and retaining them in Central Arkansas.
