Leadership Greater Little Rock has graduated over 1,000 community leaders from its training program, including a Secretary of State, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, University President, and Chamber Chairman.
Each year, around 50 class members are selected from hundreds of applicants to participate in the nine-month program. One day a month, October through June, the class meets at a different Central Arkansas venue to explore topics through expert speakers, panelists, tours and group presentations.
Designed to develop a network of skilled leaders, the program informs and trains participants on a wide variety of local and public issues, including:
• Government;
• Area Economy;
• Education;
• Justice;
• Healthcare;
• Economic Development; and
• Neighborhoods.
Selection criteria include:
• Interest and commitment to serve Central Arkansas;
• Time to devote to sessions;
• Involvement in non-employment volunteer activities;
• Leadership skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability and willingness to be a contributing participant; and
• Financial and time commitment by employer or sponsoring organization.
Tuition for the program is $1,500, and full and partial scholarships are available based on need. This year’s Class has been selected, but applications for 2007-2008 will be available in April.
