Little Rock employs 578
police officers that use mobile equipment. The department also has
a crime prevention unit. The City of North Little Rock has 200 officers
and 116 radio-equipped patrol cars, among other vehicles.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department provides protection
with 513 deputies and support personnel, 346 of which operate
the county correctional facility, and 96 radio-equipped vehicles.
Little Rock has a Class 2 fire rating, with 393 paid firefighters.
The department operates 20 fire stations with 20 engine pump companies,
eight ladder companies, and three aircraft fire fighting crews.
The department also has an urban search and rescue team and a
hazardous materials team. In addition, the department also maintains
a full-time bomb squad.
North Little Rock also has a Class 2 fire rating
and operates with 156 firefighters, 11 fire stations, and 28 equipment
units. There are 19 volunteer fire departments within Pulaski
County, serving unincorporated areas other than Little Rock, North
Little Rock and Jacksonville. |
