Little Rock
National Airport is served by American Eagle, Continental Express,
Delta, Delta Connection, Frontier, Northwest, Northwest Airlink, Southwest
and USAirways Express airlines. Non-stop jet service is offered to Atlanta,
Baltimore/Washington, Charlotte, Chicago (Midway and O’Hare),
Cincinnati, Dallas (DFW and Love Field), Denver, Detroit, Houston (Hobby
and Bush Intercontinental), Kansas City, Las Vegas, Memphis, Minneapolis/St.
Paul, New York (via Newark), Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and St.
Louis.
In 2005, the airlines serving Little Rock handled approximately 2.6
million passengers, up from 2.2 million the year before. The growth
in passenger numbers has strengthened Little Rock National’s position
with the airlines in seeking new and more direct service. In addition
to commercial aircraft, the airport serves a large number of general
aviation/private aircraft. Also on airport property are two of the region’s
major aviation employers, Dassault Falcon Jet and Raytheon Aircraft.
A number of improvement projects are underway at the airport, including
lengthening of the commercial service runway on the east side of the
terminal by 1,050 feet and a major upgrade to the concourse. A study
is currently underway to determine the best way to expand and improve
the current terminal building, which was opened in 1972.
Customer service has always been important at Little Rock National,
and new features are being regularly added to make the airport experience
more enjoyable. The live music program, co-sponsored by airport concessionaire
HMS Host, continues to be very popular with customers, as is the Customer
Care Center on the second level of the terminal.
Two important goals at the airport are to continually upgrade customer
service and physical facilities to ensure that both visitors and residents
have the most positive airport experience possible.
