HMS Mfg. Co. Chooses Little Rock for New Facility

Little Rock, AR (October 30, 2019) - HMS Mfg. Co. announced plans today to open a new 550,000 sq. ft. injection molding facility in the Port of Little Rock. HMS Mfg. Co. expects to create around 90 new jobs within the next two years. HMS Mfg. “The partnerships we formed at the local and state levels show how excited this community is to work with HMS Mfg. Co.,” said Janet Sofy, President of HMS Mfg. Co. “Based on increased business, strong customer relationships and our three-year strategic plan, we decided to move forward with this major expansion.”
The purchase of this facility allows HMS Mfg. Co. to expand their manufacturing, assembly and warehousing capabilities. This expansion is part of HMS Mfg. Co.’s goal to incorporate emerging technologies as part of its growth strategy. The new facility will have state of the art injection molding processes.
“I am pleased to welcome HMS Mfg. Co. to the Port of Little Rock, along with the major brands they produce and distribute worldwide,” said Gov. Asa Hutchinson. “HMS Mfg. Co. will bring value to the area and continue to diversify our economy. This is a company I called on the first day of my second term to invite them to Arkansas, and I am glad they are coming."
“One of my priorities is to provide good-paying jobs for the hard-working citizens of Little Rock,” said Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. “HMS Mfg. Co. will be doing just that at their new facility in the Port (of Little Rock) and we are grateful to them for choosing Little Rock.”
“HMS Mfg. Co. is in an industry that we are aggressively targeting,” said Melissa Hendricks, Chair of the Little Rock Port Authority. “The Port of Little Rock employs nearly 5,000 people, and we are excited to add HMS Mfg. Co. to a growing number of companies that are creating even more job opportunities in the Port.”
“Pulaski County is excited that HMS Mfg. Co. selected Little Rock for their new manufacturing location,” said Pulaski County Judge Barry Hyde. “The Port of Little Rock is a unique asset in our county that serves as a logistics hub in the region and supports over 40 employers. We look forward to HMS Mfg. Co. joining the Port.”
“Having HMS Mfg. Co. choose Little Rock is a testament to our Port and our region’s qualified workforce,” said Kevin Crass, Chairman of the Little Rock Regional Chamber. “The Port of Little Rock has four strategic modes of transportation which are critical for freight movement in today’s competitive environment.”
“The circumstances for this project presented us the right opportunity, so I commend Chris Murphy and our energy efficiency team for their work, and we welcome HMS Mfg. Co. to the Natural State,” said Laura Landreaux, Entergy Arkansas’ President and CEO.
