Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority Receiving Federal Funds Secured by Senator Boozman

Little Rock (Feb 2, 2026) - Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority (LRWRA) CEO Jean Block announced that the utility will receive $10 million in federal funding to strengthen wastewater infrastructure in the Port of Little Rock. She thanked U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) for his longtime support of clean water infrastructure and for securing these funds through the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations.

“The Utility proudly partners with the City of Little Rock and Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce in their push for continued growth and development in the Port,” said Block. “This funding will enable LRWRA to expand sewer system capacity, support the development of the Megasite at the Port, and ensure LRWRA can reliably meet future wastewater demands in and around the Port.

Senator Boozman highlighted the impact of this investment. “This funding will help ensure adequate resources are available to protect public health and strengthen critical infrastructure that makes the region, and specifically the Port of Little Rock, an excellent home to growing industries and investments,” said Boozman. “I was proud to champion this project and will continue advocating efficient and productive use of taxpayer dollars for projects that create economic opportunity and benefit Arkansans.”

The funding will support the construction of a new pump station force main, upgrades to the existing port pump station, and installation of a new interconnect between the Fourche Creek and Adams Field Water Reclamation Facilities. These improvements will increase flexibility in the collection system and raise capacity by up to three million gallons a day.

Boozman is Arkansas’s senior U.S. Senator and the dean of the state’s Congressional delegation, as well as a Senate Appropriations Committee member and subcommittee chairman.
