Life in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 20, 2026) – As employers across Central Arkansas compete to attract and retain talent, the Little Rock Regional Chamber is launching a new tool to help answer a question that often extends beyond the job offer itself: What is it really like to build a life in Little Rock?

The Chamber today unveiled Life in Little Rock, a new digital platform designed to help prospective residents explore the people, places, and opportunities that shape everyday life in the Little Rock metro. Available at LifeinLittleRock.com, the platform gives employers and recruiters a resource they can share with candidates considering a move to the region.

Crystal Kohanke, the Executive Vice President & Chief People Officer for Arkansas Children’s, shared that “recruiting someone to Little Rock is about much more than the job; we're recruiting the family, too. Candidates are deciding not only whether they want the role, but whether they can build a life here. A resource that helps them picture both a career and a life in Little Rock can be a meaningful part of the recruiting process.”

“We want people considering Little Rock to be able to picture what their life here could actually look like,” said Jay Chesshir, president and CEO of the Little Rock Regional Chamber. “Life in Little Rock brings together the information and local perspectives that can help turn a job opportunity into a bigger conversation about making this region home.”

Little Rock, Arkansas’ largest city by population, anchors a growing metro that is adding both residents and jobs. From 2020 to 2025, the area’s population grew 3.3%, adding more than 24,000 residents, while the number of jobs increased 9.5% during the same period. The region is now home to approximately 1.1 million people.

“Talent is critical to the long-term growth of our region, and attracting that talent requires us to compete on more than jobs alone,” said Jack Thomas, senior vice president of economic development for the Little Rock Regional Chamber. “Life in Little Rock helps us showcase the opportunities and quality of life available here while giving local employers another tool to strengthen their recruiting efforts.”

The website also reflects how the region is changing. Recent migration data published by the Chamber shows the Little Rock metro is gaining more working professionals from a number of major U.S. markets than it is losing to them, including Houston, Phoenix, St. Louis, San Francisco, and Memphis.

Life in Little Rock brings information about the area together in one place, allowing users to explore neighborhoods, cost of living, schools and education, health care, career opportunities, recreation, and other aspects of living in the Little Rock Metro. The platform is part of the Chamber’s broader talent attraction and economic development work and is available now at LifeinLittleRock.com.
