Create Little Rock’s annual Land in the Rock summer program is designed to entertain interns, law clerks, and medical residents who are here for the summer and demonstrate to them what Little Rock has to offer.  These events are also for young professionals who have recently moved to Little Rock.  Create Little Rock members are invited to all Land in the Rock events.

For permanent young professional residents of the Little Rock region, you can just join Create Little Rock (membership is free) to get all of the info (CLR emails will continue beyond the summer)

We’re kicking off the summer with a pizza party hosted at "The Print Shop" - an event space at the Cromwell Architects building in Little Rock's East Village neighborhood.

Little Rock Rangers Minor League Soccer Game & Tailgate Party
Wed, June 11, 6 pm tailgate; 7 pm game
War Memorial Stadium

Little Rock’s minor league soccer team, the Little Rock Rangers, will be playing the Denton Diablos of Denton, TX.  Free tickets for LITR participants and CLR members who register. We’ll have a tailgate party in the parking lot beginning at 6pm with cold beverages. The game is at 7pm.

Join us for a night at the ballpark in the Beer Garden as the Travs take on the Wichita Wind Surge. Free tickets for LITR participants and CLR members who register.

CLR Monthly Happy Hour
Fassler Hall - 311 E. Capitol Ave
June 26, 5:30 - 7:30pm

Join Little Rock's young professionals for their monthly happy hour at a great downtown venue. Get to know some locals! Fassler Hall is a German-inspired beer hall and restaurant with a full bar. They have an expansive outdoor space with yard games, plus plenty of room indoors to cool off if the summer heat gets to be too much. (Registration opening soon)

As part of our Unplugged Speaker Series and Land in the Rock programming, we’ll be hosting a Professional Development Lunch featuring Skip Rutherford, former Dean of the Clinton School of Public Service, to speak on networking and “rainmaking.”

Tour and Happy Hour at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts
Wed, July 9th, 5:30-7:30pm

LITR participants and CLR members will get a tour of the completely renovated Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA). AMFA reopened to the public on April 22nd last year, welcoming the Little Rock community for the first time since breaking ground on a four-year renovation and expansion project in 2019. The reimagined space is breathtakingly beautiful, as are the works of fine are housed within. We’ll congregate in the “Cultural Living Room” where the museum will be hosting their weekly “Wednesday Spins” with happy hour specials and a DJ. Thanks to our event sponsor, the Gill Ragon Owen Law Firm, the first drink is free!

Arkansas River Cookout

CLR is grilling out at the Rock City Yacht Club on the Little Rock river bank. 

Come get a whole new view of the Arkansas River! You’ll be able to paddle around the marina in a kayak, thanks to our friends at Rock Town River Outfitters! Check them out for some awesome kayaking on the Arkansas River and the Little Maumelle River.

Rock Town Distillery Tour & Tasting
1201 Main St
Thurs, July 31, 5-7pm

For our final event of the summer, we’ll be touring Rock Town Distillery on South Main Street and sampling 8 of their award-winning products!

Private tours and tastings usually cost $20 per person, but the cost for CLR members and LITR participants is only $10. You must pay in advance. The cost includes a tasting of 8 of their products following the tour.

5:00-5:30pm: Socializing in the main bar. Rock Town has a full bar including beer and wine, and you can purchase a drink to enjoy before the tour.

5:30-6pm: Tour of the distillery. During the guided tour, we’ll learn about the process of making spirits – from grain to glass – and hear about their origins. (Don’t worry if you’re running late, it will be easy to catch up with the group.) 

6pm-6:30pm: We’ll head to the private tasting room, where we’ll sample and learn about 8 of their spirits.  

6:30 – 7pm: We’ll move the party over to the main bar area to make room for the next tour. You can grab another drink and purchase bottles of their various spirits if you like.
